From the obituary for Mario D’Amico:

1944 – 2018

Our beloved Mario “Butch” D’Amico succumbed to brain cancer and passed peacefully, under excellent
Snowline Hospice care, in his home on April 26. He shined his loving light, shared his heart, made
us laugh, had lifetime friends and blessed so many in his 73 years.

Born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Mario traveled a bit, then served in the Army’s 82nd Airborne
Division from 1963 to 1966, with an honorable discharge and commendations and badges. In the 70s,
he moved from Ridgecrest, California and settled into Sacramento where he worked for SMUD as a
lineman/electrician for 29 years (March 1971 to August 2000). Mario met his love, Linda Nagy/Mansfield,
at a 50/50 Club party, friendships that still remain. When Mario transferred to SMUD Fresh Pond,
they moved to a secluded mountain cabin/home nearby and made a happy, fulfilled life with skiing,
travel, horses, dogs, koi fish pond, cats, chickens, camping, motorcycle riding, RVing and great
friends. He joined the Placerville Veterans group, so important to him, and his church Men’s Group
Breakfast meetings, making everlasting pals.

Mario is remembered as a beloved husband, brother, electrician, “the best uncle ever”, a respected
friend, horseman, mountain man, builder, honey-do, a family story teller and jokester. He was true
to his love of Christ, love of family and love of country.

Mario is survived by Linda, his spouse of 35 years, and doggies Frankie & Pepe; siblings Toni Holland
of Ridgecrest, California; Patricia Coen, and spouse Steve of Las Vegas, Nevada; Anthony Cozzucoli and
spouse Mary of Mississippi and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was shared at his Placerville Church of the Nazarene, on May 11, 2018 at 11 a.m.
