The attached jpg circuit, depicts the starting and running circuits for
1500cc Classic's (it may be applicable to other models).
To START. When the start button is pressed 12 volts is felt through the
diode, then relay coil and needs to find an earth path via the clutch or
Neutral switch. If an earth is detected the relay coil will energize closing
the contacts allowing 12 volts to pull energize the Start Relay, that then
allows a separate high current path for 12 volts to the start motor.
To RUN. To allow the engine to run an earth must be present at the IC
igniter from any one of the 3 diodes (logic OR gate).(note operating the
Kill switch remove 12 volts from the ignition coils, not shown on this
diagram).
