I've talked with quite a few EN500 owners who were less than pleased with the F&S windshields available from Mama Kaw for the EN. The ones available in the aftermarket are OK but still do not provide much relief from buffeting. I found a solution that works but unless you have some spare parts laying around or a friendly dealer or a good junkyard or luck on Ebay this solution is an expensive one. I was fortunate in that I didn't have to leave the workshop to accomplish the task. The F&S mounting hardware for the EN500 "V-Force II" (part #K46001-013) can be made to fit the F&S "Classic" windshield for the 800 & 1500 Vulcan Classics (part #K46001-019S) with just a little effort. Because the fork spacing is narrower on the EN than on the VN and the EN fork brackets are offset, you must install the EN500 mounting hardware "opposite" from the instructions (left bracket on right fork, right bracket on left fork) with the top of the clamps 1/4" below the top triple tree. Tighten the clamps just enough to keep them from sliding down the forks. Take the Classic windshield and carefully (loosely) mount it to the fork brackets moving each bracket to the inside or outside until the windshield easily goes into place. Tighten the windshield mounting nuts finger tight. Take a look at each of the flat tabs that seat against the rear of the windshield. You may have to bend the tabs just a little bit to get them to where they fit flat against the windshield. (The tabs bend easily with a pair of lineman's pliers.) Once you get the tabs "right" and can easily place the windshield on and off the mounts, remove the windshield and tighten the fork clamps. The clamps may rotate in or out as you tighten them so make sure your alignment stays on - I marked the clamps and the triple tree for this purpose. Before you install the windshield for the final time, you'll notice that there are two bolts, one on each lower side, at the bottom of the windshield. Place a metal washer between the acorn nut and the windshield "flat" and secure the two nuts and bolts. After you tighten the fork clamps install the windshield and first finger tighten the acorn nuts while pressing the windshield tight against the tabs. After all of the mounting points are properly in place tighten the acorn nuts. Remember...you're not tightenting an axle nut here so take it easy. Attached are some pictures...also check out the Nomad bars on the EN! This windshield was definitely worth the effort - it actually works!
