I have been wanting a method of mounting my folding cane on my 800A so I don't have to always open a saddlebag or roll bag to store it.
While at the VROC 2001 Eureka Springs, Arkansas rally, I asked Ray Pruitt, owner of the Rawhide Leather Shop located in the Iron Horse Stables how to mount the cane to my bike in the area around my Jardine sissy bar. I was thinking of a complicated covered holster type of thing. After looking at the cane and the bike, Ray suggested a simple sheath arrangement instead. After a few measurements, Ray quickly cut out and sewed up this sheath which has leather thongs at top and bottom for tying it onto my sissy bar and sissy bar bracket. The bottom rests lightly on the turnsignal stem. The 4 segment cane is folded only at the center and slides snuggly into the sheath. Because the cane was being damaged by rubbing against the screws on the sissy bar, I wrapped a leather thong around that section of the cane. This set up works well and was inexpensive as well. Thanks Ray
