In the picture 'clutch1', you can see the wear is much greater than
'clutch2'. Clutch1 is the original spring in my D1 after almost 11K
miles. It had been slipping for several hundred miles. Clutch2 is the
spring I installed after removing Clutch1. It is the spring for the A
model 1500 Vulcan. It has close to 8K miles and is only slightly
grooved. I estimate only 1/10 of the metal is worn off. Compared to 8/10
of the original spring.
Was the difference the result of using A spring??
