    Engine Immobiliser
Applicable to Kawasaki's that are equipped with the side stand ignition cut
out feature (e.g. Classics, Nomads, and most likely other Kawasaki's).

An easy way to add an engine Immobiliser to your Vulcan is to add a relay
that simulates the side stand switch (this will not actually prevent the
engine starting). If fitted the engine will be able to be started but will
cut out as soon as the thief attempts to ride away. The Owner must activate
the Immobiliser prior to every ride or whenever the ignition is turned off.

A Two pole relay is required (one set of contacts are wired in series with
the existing side stand switch, the other set of contact are required as a
"hold-on" circuit. The hold-on circuit is activated by a momentary micro
switch that must be hidden on your bike somewhere.

Have a look in the VROC picture library for IMMOB.jpg Aug 99. In this
circuit the entire start and run circuit is depicted. An additional feature
that can be added is a De-activate switch that immobilises the Immobiliser,
I use this when I take the bike in for a service, otherwise your mechanic is
going to be tearing his hair out trying to take the bike for a test ride
    (hide this switch also).

I have installed one of these home made immobilisers on every bike I have
owned, it can be tailored for any bike (ie, if there is no side stand
ignition cutout circuit, then you could interrupt some other critical
circuit path. Amperage of circuit to interrupt and relay selection must be
    considered of course).
