Here are two pics of a local bike. It belongs to Bruce Harreman
(seated). It is a 'Classic' with a few MODS! Last year Bruce
and his wife were at Sturgis with this bike and on the way home -
actually, less than 100 miles FROM home - an 'oilfield' truck came out
of a crossroad, blew through a stop sign and took them out! Flat, open
prairie! Guess the trucker didn't "see" them! Anyway, both Bruce and
his missus are recovering nicely, I believe, and the Vulcan has had all
its bent pieces replaced, mostly with aftermarket bits. The bike is
currently on display at the local KAW DLR in Regina, SK...but I bet
Bruce is gearing up to ride it! (I believe he hasn't ridden it since
the accident after Sturgis '97 - I think these pics are very recent).
The dealer, NORTHGATE KAWASAKI SPORTS LTD., did the re-assembly. A
local paint shop did the custom paint...if you've seen pictures of the
VULCAN that was 'special-built' for the "Father of the Vulcan" (a guy
who works for KAWASAKI and was a driving force behind the developement
of the VULCAN - sorry, can't remember his name) you will see some
resemblance in the paint scheme. (A picture of HIS bike is in the new
VULCAN brochure). Anyway, Bruce isn't a VROCer, yet, but maybe I can
talk him into buying a computer! If anyone has any comments on this
bike, please Email them to me at: p.zucht@sk.sympatico.ca and I
would be happy to print 'em and pass 'em on to him. Thanks.
These two pics are about 45 + 65 k in size.
