A great day welcomed some 20 total bikes to different parts of our monthly Chicagoland VROC run Saturday.
From "Sarge"
meeting "Bulldog", Rich and I at 8:00 a.m., only to
have him have to leave immediately, to meeting Wolfman and other
VROC's at the 9:00 a.m. breakfast point parking lot, to share
chrome and finally two more waving, sneaking back in for breakfast
likely, as our now 8 bikes and Mustang Sally's pickup rumbled
west.

A chilly and windy day warmed as we headed toward Starved Rock. We arrived at the Rock a little early, to find Jeff Saunders and Don Diehls, who came from the South waiting for us.

We did the pix and walked to the bar and grill to find an hour wait for a group our size. We decided to trek on over to the leather and "deadhead" store, a mere 5, but what seemed like 50, blocks away. The empty store's owner was pretty surprised as our ragged crowd came walking in and filled his store, his comment "Where are the bikes? I didn't hear you coming" Our own surprise found "Taz" walk into the store about 10 minutes later to be greeted by shouts, he turned to look out at the empty parking lot in amazement.
After doing some serious leather damage, we finally wandered back down the street to our private room in the back of the Pub and Grill, where the noise level increased as our own "Rubber Man" kept us and the waitress entertained. As we finished, we went out to begin the breakdown, as different groups, even one from Iowa, started winding there way back. Our final gas stop found our own Huge trying to smuggle big hairy bugs in his sleeve for a late night snack. One by one we again split off, still smiling as we all ended the day back in our own solo run.

A great run with a great group of VROCers.
